"This fantastic 1996 comes exclusively from old vine estate fruit in the Grand Cru of Cramant that is selected from a small plot of their 17.5 acres of vineyard. Unlike many of the other Blanc de Blancs we have from the more southerly grand crus, this is opulent, full-bodied Champagne. All the same, it still has the length and refreshing qualities of the vintage. The Champagne has wonderful aromatics; white flowers, rye toast, and chalky minerality. It drinks well now with anything from sushi (I had a bottle with a homemade ahi roll) to any kind of shellfish. It will age gorgeously for at least 10 years. -Gary Westby, K&L Champagne buyer "
