92 points "92 points Wine Spectator: "Like a cross between key lime pie and peach cobbler in flavor, then the mineral note comes in cleansing the finish and reminding you that this comes from slate. Vibrant and long, it expresses a sense of place. Drink now through 2015." With a vineyard incline of up to 75% and a soil structure made up of red and blue slate with a sizable amount of sandstone and mixed clay the Würtzberg (spice hill) is a special site all in itself. It produces wines that are racy, high toned and mineral driven on the aromatic and the front of the palate and yet textured and layered through the middle and finish all the while having an integrated acidity which is juicy and mouthwatering. The slate really kicks through the nose on this and is softened up with a peach pit richness, a touch of citrus cream and a finish of fresh peach pie crust. To be honest, it reminded me of my grandmother's peach pie - the best pie ever! (Eric Story) "
