95 points "95 points, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate October 2006 Scavino’s 1996 Bric del Fiasc, tasted from magnum, is one of the truly great versions of this wine. It offers captivating notes of tar, licorice and menthol along with a tightly wound core of vibrant dark fruit on a structured, deeply expressive frame of notable length. Though starting to show some tertiary nuances, this Barolo will be even better in a few years. 95/Anticipated maturity: 2008-2018. Bric del Fiasc, was first produced in 1978. The vineyard is located in Castiglione Falletto and the wines from this plot are generally the biggest and most structured of the estate’s lineup. In important vintages Bric del Fiasc requires at least several years of cellaring. Today vintages 1989 and 1990 appear to still be fresh and youthful and my guess is that recent vintages will age at least as well given that they were made from lower yields and with a much greater sense of awareness towards other factors affecting quality. 93 points, Wine Spectator December 2000 Gorgeous aromas of ripe raspberry, plum and roasted coconut. Full-bodied, with loads of bright fruit, fine tannins and a long, chewy finish. Already closed up; give it time. Best after 2004. 830 cases made. –JS " Best 2008-2018
