"2001 Review: This is a beautifully knit, elegant, graceful effort with both power and richness. An opaque purple color is followed by aromas of white flowers, blueberries, raspberries, minerals, and spice. With excellent texture as well as sweet, concentrated, stylish flavors, it should be consumed over the next 5+ years.

"Color: deep; Nose: complex; Acidity: lively; Sweetness: dry; Body: full-bodied; Finish: persistent; Overall: rich; still shows as a winner and show stopper, with whomever we drink this wine. As big as it is, it's still well enough balanced so that it goes down wonderfully with food. It is always reached for and quickly finished, the one sure sign of a good wine."
