"Our 1998 Cabernet shows great elegance and richness with beautiful flavors of blackberry and currant with just the right amount of spice. The majority of the grapes come from the Oakville Ranch Vineyard, which produces fruit of great intensity and balance. It is big, juicy and delicious now but should prove to be a Cabernet that will last into the next decade. "

" Making way for the new vintage! - One of the our favorite California producers, Miner has crafted an outstanding rich and elegant '98 Cabernet. The fruit for this wine comes from mountain grapes grown on the Oakville Ranch and hillside grapes grown on the west side of Oakville, just north of the Oakville Grade. More upfront and supple than the 1997, the 1998 is a loaded with flavors of chocolate, blackberry and spice. It is quite similar to the 1996. The blend is 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot and 4% Cabernet Franc."
