92 points "Wonderful balance and sense of elegance, offering ripe, complex fruit flavors, with spicey black cherry, blackberry, pomegranate, herb and sage notes that add flavor demensions and complexity. Firm but ripe tannins add structure, allowing the fruit to push through. Drink now through 2009." Best 2004-2009

" Always a tremendous value in solid, varietally correct Zinfandel, the 2002 Sonoma Zin from Seghesio does not disappoint. In a time when so many Zin producers are pushing their ripeness levels to new heights producing thick, opulent wines that end on a distinctive sweet note (delightfully reminiscent of cough syrup), this Zin, culled from estate vineyards in Alexander Valley and Dry Creek Valley, is briary and spicy with a nice tingling of tannin and rich, dark fruits. Barrel aged for 12 months in American (75%) and French (25%) oak."
