91 points "Smells like a reduced plum and Port sauce, with dark fig, plum, prune and bramble notes pumping through the palate. It still manages to stay fresh on the finish, with tobacco and olive notes that keep it honest. Drink now through 2009. 200 cases made." Best 2006-2009

"Pierre and Catherine Breton's wines are served at virtually every hot wine bar in Paris. Pierre makes several cuvées from various vineyard sites and his "Nuits d'Ivresse", or The Drunken Nights, is from a selection of fruit that is vinified completely without the use of any sulfur, according to the vinifcation principles outlined by the late Jules Chauvet. There is a tiny amount added before the bottling to keep the wine stable in shipping, but it is so minimal as to be undetectable in testing."

"Deep garnet color and a nose of forest berry fruit and violent scents. The palate is firm and spicy with a fresh finish. This is wonderfully food-friendly."
