"Starting with 5 hectares and acquiring another 50 soon after, proprietor Jean Orliac named his property l'Hortus, the Latin translation for The Garden, as an homage to the land and its tradition. Since the cool microclimate soon proved exceptional for syrah, Orliac planted chardonnay and viognier on young vineyards and crafted one of the most exotic and compelling white wines in all the South of France. The Cuvee Classique Blanc is a blend of late-harvest chardonnay and viognier with a touch of sauvignon blanc. A partial cold-fermentation precedes a malolactic fermentation in new Allier barrels. The wine is aged on the fine lees with constant stirring for eight months. Uniquely delicious!"

"Bright golden color with aromas of stone fruits and white flowers. On the palate, it is deliciously lush, ripe, and mouthfilling with a touch of sweetness on the finish. Works wonderfully well with a bouillabaisse."
