"Deep ruby. Intensely spicy scents of vibrant blackberry, cassis and gingerbread. Round, warm and velvety in the mouth, showing ripe cherry and dark berry flavors with a hint of cured tobacco. The sweetness builds through the long, juicy finish. This has excellent fruit. 91-94 points"

"A deep but still very elegant style is found in the 2005 Chateauneuf du Pape Reserve. This wine is medium to full-bodied, has a dark ruby/purple color, is long, complete, rich, with plenty of black currant, cherry, and licorice notes infused with some dried herbs and pepper. It should drink nicely for up to a decade. A new estate to reckon with, proprietors Christian and Julien Barrot come from a good winemaking family, and I believe these are the first wines they have presented for tasting. There are three cuvees from their 30 acres."

"Has a gorgeous mouthfeel, with a rich, velvety, mouthfilling texture that allows hoisin sauce, Turkish coffee, graphite and dark licorice notes to sail through the country: dense, Lengthy finish. Excellent Grip is well-embedded. Best from 2010 through 2030. 1,500 cases made."

"Dark red. Spicy strawberry and raspberry on the nose, with subtle garrigue, anise and dried floral scents adding interest. This is beautifully perfumed and sweet, with silky red fruit flavors and light, dusty tannins. Finishes with gentle grip and a strong echo of strawberry. An utterly classic rendition of Châteauneuf.(Jan/Feb '08) "
