"Frappato is fun to say. With the addition of nero d'avola, it also makes a very tasty (and age worthy) big red wine from Eastern Sicily. Though Italian wine buffs will recognize cerasuolo as the term used on mainland Italy to refer to cherry pink or rosé wines, in Sicily Cerasuolo di Vittoria is an intense, dark red wine, with cracked pepper and tobacco notes along with strappingly ripe black cherry fruit. This one from Cantina Valle dell'Acate has consistently been a glass winner in Gambero Rosso."
