3 stars "Made from grapes purchased from a neighboring vineyard, although these are Tablas Creek clones. Fruity nose followed by sweet aromas on the palate. Amazingly clearly different in style and much more Californian than the rest of the winery offering." Best 2005-

"Our inaugural wine from the Glenrose Vineyard, whose proprietor Don Rose planted the vineyard with Rhone varietal cuttings from the Tablas Creek nursery. 35% Syrah, 29% Mourvèdre, 26% Grenache, 10% Counoise. We worked with Don throughout the year to ensure that the vineyard would produce the best possible grapes, and then brought the grapes to Tablas Creek at ripeness. All native yeast fermented and aged in foudre, we bottled it early (February 2004) to capture the wine's freshness and floral character. It has intense Syrah-driven aromas of black fruit, spice, leather and butter. Distinctive velvety feel on the palate with ripe fruit, good intensity, minerality and depth. Drink this red wine soon: in the next 2-3 years." Best 2005-2007
