"A brilliant effort from proprietor Stephan von Neipperg, this sleeper of the vintage is one of the Cotes de Castillon's two or three best wines in 2002. A saturated ruby/purple color is accompanied by a big bouquet of Asian spices, earth, black currants, and incense. With loads of fruit, a touch of noticable oak, medium to full-body, and moderate tannin, it should drink well for a decade or more."

"Aromas of blackberry, spices, chocolate and meat follow through to a full-bodied palate, with lots of juicy fruit. Luscious finish. Gorgeous. This has a new winery, but the clay soil of the vineyards really helped. Best after 2009. 7,000 cases made. "
