"Color: pale; Nose: fragrant; Aromas: floral; Acidity: supple; Sweetness: dry; Body: medium-bodied; Finish: persistent; Overall: elegant; Quite exceptional. I wasn't sure it had survived. Cork disintegrated. Careful decanting an hour before the meal. We did an initial tasting together, and both exclaimed "roses". Slightly vegetal nose (tayher like Burgundy) which soon faded. Pale brownish, with very pale edges (again like an old pinot noir). Refined, elegant. Coped with the richness of the venison extremly well. Went on charming us through the hour+ of our meal. My wife said it was the finest red wine she'd ever tasted, and I would certainly place it in my top five."

"Winery: Chateau Musar Score: 85
Wine: Lebanon 1987 Price: $18
Country: Lebanon
Region: Lebanon
Issue: Sep 30, 1994
This wine shows the expressive, mature tea and vanilla aromas of an aged Rioja. On the palate, it's smooth and supple, with ripe fruit and earthy notes. Elegant and easy to drink. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cinsault. Drink now. 15,000 cases made. (TM)
