"Tasting note: Knockout aromas of licorice, wood toast and blackberries coupled with big-bodied, amazingly intense, earthy flavors and a long, relatively muscular finish that displays budding complexity. There is good structure here but it's buried beneath all the pinot sap and as such, the wine seems less animale than usual. Despite the relatively approachable and supple feel to the wine at this stage, this will take its sweet time coming around.
