"Deep, saturated ruby. Instensely spicy aromas of blackberry, bitter cherry, tobacco and minerals, with a complicating note of black pepper that became more pronounced with air. This is quite fresh and lively for the vintage, showing tangy red and dark berry flavors and a solid, chewy texture. Finshes with considerable finesse. IWC Issue 124, January/February 2006."

"Very aromatic, refined and intriguing. A medium-bodied wine that opens up with crisp, citrusy notes that are a bit sour, then delivers freshly crushed red berries, dried herbs and cassis in a rather narrow range. Not much seduction here, but there is a mineral, iron, wet earth and terroir quality that is unmistakably unique and keeps you coming back for more. Cellar for years. Best from 2005 through 2015. 6,330 cases made. (PM)"
