"The 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon Winemaker’s Reserve reveals the differences in vintage styles. Where the 2002s tend to be more fruit driven and flamboyant, the 2001s are more muscular, masculine, and structured. This dense ruby/purple-colored 2001 exhibits additional tannin, structure, and lead pencil characteristics intermixed with saddle leather, new oak, and black fruit notes. Give this big wine 1-3 years of bottle age, and enjoy it over the following 12-15."

"Ripe and plush, with aromas of black cherry, lead pencil, blackberry and anise. This full-blown Cabernet packs in lots of rich, concentrated flavors and is impeccably balanced, finishing with firm, ripe, chewy tannins. "
