Tasting Notes:
tasted: March 13, 2006 , Catherine Granger
3 stars "Dark garnet color, intense nose of red and black fruits. On the palate, dense and peppery with pruny flavors, followed by a long finish. Not as balanced and food-friendly as the Domaine Monpertuis."
rated: February 16, 2006 , K&L Wine Merchants
"The odd duck in the line-up, the Sablet "Tenebi" is mostly produced from the obscure counoise grape: "In 1990, I visited Beaucastel and I tasted their Counoise in barrels and I thought that was extraordinary and since I had some planted and had time to kill in 1991, I decided to bottle the Ténébi and it turned out even better than I thought it would," says proprietor Autran."

"Perhaps the emerging star of Sablet is Domaine de Piaugier, an estate that also makes fine Gigondas under the inspired youthful enthusiasm Jean-Marc Autran. This estate garners considerable praise from the French press, all of which is justified. The wines are well made, pure, ripe, and capable of lasting 5-7 years…" Best 2005-2010
