"De Toren makes Fusion, one of South Africa's best reds, which has rated into the 90s in Wine Spectator the past three years running. Because there is often a bit of fruit left over after the selection for Fusion, de Toren created Diversity, a wine that expresses each year the diversity of blending the likes of merlot, cabernet franc, malbec, cabernet sauvignon and petit verdot in proportions totally different to Fusion V. Every year is unique, expressing the diversity of South Africa's cultivars and terroir, and every year gets a new name, too. The Gamma shows violet flavors with sweet red fruits dominating. The ripe red sweet fruit results in a finesse that lasts for some time on the palate. Well rounded soft tannins uplift the structure and give this wine potential for ageing. 36% cabernet franc, 31% merlot, 15% cabernet sauvignon, 10% petit verdot and 8% malbec aged for 12 months in two- and three-year-old French and American oak."
