"Opaque purple-colored with penetrating scents of jammy black cherries, toasty new oak, Provencal herbs, and spice, this muscular 1996 provides copious quantities of red and black fruits on the attack, mid-palate, and finish. This thick, tannic, medium to full-bodied wine will require patience following bottling. Anticipated maturity: 2003-2015.
This property has come of age now that it under the administration of Comte Stephan de Neipperg, the well-known proprietor of Canon-La-Gaffeliere, and more recently, the super-luxury micro-estate of La Mondotte."

"A blockbuster. Black in color, with extremely grapey, toasted oak and dark chocolate aromas. Full-bodied, with loads of big, velvety tannins and a long, long finish. Best Clos de L'Oratoire ever. Best after 2010. 4,000 cases made. (JS)"
