"The 2008 Illusionist is made up of 92% Cabernet Sauvignon and 8% Syrah aged for 23 months in 60% new French oak. It sports an inviting nose of cedar, exotic spices, lavender, wood smoke, plum, and black currant. In the glass it opens to reveal layered black fruits, ample fine-grained tannins, an elegant, racy personality and 2-3 years of aging potential. This tasty effort will provide pleasure through 2020.
—Jay Miller, August 2011. Wine Advocate 91pts - Supple, almost satiny, with gorgeous cherry, raspberry and rhubarb flavors mingling with hints of clove and rose as the finish sails on and on. Offers impressive depth and length. Drink now through 2018. From Washington."
