"Wow! Not much nose, but the palate is full and lush, just the perfect acidity, nicely balanced, no oak or alcohol. Refreshing, tangy berries."

""From 40 year-old Pinot Noir vines, along with some Gamay, Tessier’s 2009 Cheverny Point du Jour brims with ginger-tinged fresh red raspberry, strawberry, and cherry. Blond tobacco and chalk add appeal on a polished, caressing palate displaying some of Pinot’s notoriously seductive textural potential, and this finishes with almost melon-like dripping succulence as well as subtle red fruit skin tartness. There could be far worse introductions to Cheverny rouge – to say nothing of Pinot Noir – than this excellent value." (08/10) The aromatic is teaming with loads of red fruits up top and a slightly denser core of blue fruits underneath. The chalk of the soil comes through on the mid palate while the classy fruit texture of the Pinot Noir envelops a silky tannin structure which leads into a tasty finish that lingers on the palate for quite sometime. This is definitely a denser and more concentrated version of the regular Cheverny Rouge and would greatly benefit with about 3 years of bottle aging…Or, a good hour of decanting. "
