"There are characters in this wine which make me think that it’s carrying a smidge of cabernet - though however those characters have been derived, they are very much welcome. This is a super Yarra syrah. It smells of violets and sticks and blackcurrant and tastes of them too, its tannins quite leafy and bitter, but not green or hard. Indeed this wine has a textural, luscious quality to it, despite its more savoury elements. I’m very much a fan. Drink: 2012-2018. 94 points."
