90 points "While so many Napa wines soar past the $100 mark, John Buehler consistently delivers high quality Cabernets for a fraction of that price. The winery's estate vineyards at the base of Howell Mountain supplied 35 percent of this 2005, with the rest coming from non-estate vineyards on the valley floor. The estate fruit lends intensity to the wine, but winemaker David Cronin pursues a well-proportioned style, emphasizing balance and classic Napa aromas such as blackberry, cedar and mineral." "

87 points "Intense and concentrated, with chewy wood and herb-laced currant fruit that's a bit rustic and tannic yet hearty and dense. Ends with chewy tannins. Drink now through 2011. 8,200 cases made. –JL" Best 2006-2011

"This was a very pleasant wine - not too heavy or thick - just right. Good with just about anything, and for sipping too!!"
