" This is Kathryn Kennedy's third release of this label and it's the finest one yet. 2001 is widely considered to be one of the best vintages across California. Production was limited to 300 cases. These grapes are from select growers in the local appellation, not from the Kathryn Kennedy Estate vines. Warmer growing conditions on the inland side of the coast range have proven to yield superb Cabernet, vinified using the same small scale techniques employed for the Estate Cab. This hands-on winemaking includes hand punch-downs and gentle pressing. Aged in equal parts French and American oak barrels for twenty months, it is styled as a sleek and supple, rich and luxurious mountain Cabernet that drinks well at a young age."
