" The source for Lewis' Barcaglia Lane Chardonnay is a single rolling vineyard in the Russian River Valley. Developed for Lewis by the Dutton Family in 1998, the site consists of 3 sloping blocks planted to three distinct clones: 15, Dijon and Old Wente, which yield wonderfully ripe and complex fruit character. Compelling aromas of orange blossom, honey and toasty oak lead the way, followed by rich and at the same time crisp flavors of fig and apricot. Thickly textured, balanced and complex. 600 cases produced."

"Serves up a laser beam of ripe, concentrated fruit, with layers of tropical fruit, pear, apple, spice and honeysuckle. Deftly balanced, with a long, persistent aftertaste that picks up a nice touch of hazelnut and nutmeg. Drink now through 2008. 600 cases made. (JL)"
