"Aromas of petrol followed by melon and nectarine on the midpalate and carmel and honey on the long smooth finish. A big buttery/oily wine. "

" Only 16 barrels from Carneros and Oak Knoll vineyards were selected for the 2002 vintage of Lewis' flagship Reserve Chardonnay. The 2002 shows much of the same super-charged Meursault character and complexity that made the 1997 Reserve Chardonnay such delicious wine. Aged sur lies in 100% French oak, the wine is loaded with toasty oak, vanilla and ripe fruit aromas with elements of hazelnut, mineral and slate that turn rich and crisp on the finish. 400 cases produced."

"Bold, ripe, rich and concentrated, with tiers of delicious buttery fig, apricot, spice, melon and hazelnut, it turns elegant and even subtle, with pretty hints of floral and mineral on the aftertaste. Drink now through 2007. 400 cases made. (JL)"
