" S Anderson's Claret is blended with ready enjoyment in mind, yet with the balance, texture and complexity to satisfy red wine connoisseurs. Cabernet Sauvignon supplies the distinctive aromas of rich plum fruit, cherry cola and fresh tobacco. Merlot provides the sweet fruit on the palate, and the silky smooth tannins through the finish are true to the Stags Leap District. Fruit was sourced from both S Anderson's Estate Vineyard on the Yountville Cross Road and the Richard Chambers Vineyard, providing a diversity of flavors and nuances. Many vineyard blocks (comprising a wide range of rootstocks, clonal selections and trellis systems) are included in this blend. The free run juice was separated from the press wine and racked into thin-stave French oak barrels (on average about 40% new), where the wine was aged for 20 months. The wine was bottled unfined to preserve its inherent balance and textural depth."
