"This 2004 Zinfandel was hand harvested from 35-40 year old head-pruned vines from Mounts Vineyard on the west side of Dry Creek Valley. This impressive and opaque ruby-red wine offers rich aromas of spice, ripe raspberry and plums. Mouth-filling flavors of strawberry jam and red currant laced with cinnamon are complemented by smooth tannins. French and American oak flavors round out this well-balanced wine. It is an excellent match for wild mushroom bisque, beef stew or even a flourless chocolate cake. "

"Dark purple color and a nose of black fruit. On the palate, dense with some good acidity and a nice long finish of licorice."
