Tasting Notes:
rated: October 13, 2004 , K&L Wine Merchants klwines.com
" High toast notes on the nose, but very pretty ripe fruit, accompanied by a clear sense of focus and depth, as well as the charm and oak. Gamey notes, a bit of earthiness, and all of the classic Echézeaux flavors are here in abundance. This is a clear cut up from the premier crus, and shows its terroir well. I am confident that there is enough wine here to integrate the oak successfully. (Keith Wollenberg, K&L Burgundy Buyer, 06/04)Allen Meadows writes: "Very deep ruby, indeed almost black. Much more gently oaked with similar dark fruit aromas cut with smoke, hints of game and an interesting crushed herb component. The supple, generous, forward flavors are nicely complex with firm but ripe tannins and displays a lot of finishing wood plus good length. We’ll see if the wine can successfully integrate it."
