"This fascinating white comes from the village of Pernand-Vergelesses, just below Corton Charlemagne. It is part of a domaine Champy now has under a 25 year fermage contract, and is really a domaine bottled wine. But, Champy feels all their wines are equal, and does not note this fact on the label. The grapes are biodynamically grown, as Champy has seen a clear improvement in vineyard health and wine quality as they move to biodynamic viticulture. This wine really deserves the title that Pernands sometimes get, "The poor man's Corton Charlemagne." (Keith wollenberg, K&L Burgundy Buyer, 03/06)"
