The purpose of this wine is first to reduce the skus in the range, and second to have an entry-level Kabinett that’s crisper and has lower RS than the “Crus”. This wine is a kind of Selbach tabula-rasa.
The Wine Spectator A drier kabinett, this offsets its peach note and lush texture with bracing acidity and a mineral streak. A little reserved now, yet this should really hit its stride in 5 to 7 years. Best from 2009 through 2022. Score: 89. —Bruce Sanderson, December 31, 2005.
The Wine Enthusiast Crisp and clean, without quite the depth or minerality of the Zeltinger Sonnenuhr bottling but still imbued with impressive purity and fruit.
