" Pierre Morey, winemaker for Domaine Leflaive, has also taken his own vineyards completely biodynamic, and is proud of the health of the vines and concentration of the fruit that has resulted. He feels his legacy is the healthy, functioning ecosystems his organically farmed Biodynamic vineyards have become. But he is very much modern. Last time we met, he cited to me the latest research on beneficial subsoil micro-organisms in Biodynamic vineyards. He is making focused, finely crafted and top-drawer wines. (Keith Wollenberg, K&L Burgundy Buyer)90-93 Points Burghound: 'Saturated, powerful and focused fruit of dried citrus peel and a trace of toast merge into massively proportioned flavors that display impressive reserve. Though not as detailed or precise as the Perrières, there is no denying the sheer magnitude of the flavor impact and drive. The intensity builds from the mid-palate and continues on to the phenomenally long back end. Bâtard is rarely an understated wine yet this manages to be both powerful and reserved, almost in the style of a classic Montrachet.'"
