" 92-95 points Stephen Tanzer: "Less explosive on the nose than the Batard, but with pure, high-pitched, slightly candied aromas of citrus and stone fruits and minerals. Tightly wound and classically structured, with strong but harmonious acidity and excellent precision of flavor. Finishes with sneaky persistence. Stylish and complete. The yield here was about 50 hectoliters per hectare, a bit lower than in '99." (International Wine Cellar) K&L's notes - Let me tell you upfront that Chevalier is a vineyard I love when it is well done. Although this wine showed less in the early days, that too is typical of Chevalier. However, when I tasted it in Spring 2002, it was glorious. The combination of concentration, opulence and length, all backed up with a steely backbone of acidity and minerality was extraordinary. And, the finish just went on forever. Grand Cru, without a doubt. (Keith Wollenberg, K&L Burgundy Buyer)"
