"Deep, dark colour with an intense nose showing a range of ripe cherry, blackberry fruit, coffee, chocolate and mineral nuances. Powerful, ripe palate with balancing tannins.
Fattoria La Valentina was established in 1990 in Spoltore, in the hills near Pescara.
Following the early years of research in the Santa Teresa vineyard, the winery’s objective and passion became the quest for quality and the desire to promote the Abruzzese DOCs.
The main vineyard winds around the winery, on a hill a few kilometres from the Adriatic Sea, south/south-west facing, overlooking the Maiella and Gran Sasso massifs. Five hectares of Montepulciano vines and two of Trebbiano were planted 27 years ago on soil of a clayey nature.
"Montepulciano d'Abruzzo can be a bit too rustic for its own good - more of a punch in the mouth than a kiss.
This is not the case with this smooth, rich, lively beauty. From an estate that follows organic methods as far as possible, this wine has strikingly pure flavours and a lovely, juicy lift.
Instant enhancement for pizza, pasta grills or even just bread and cheese.
