94 points
"#3 in the WIne Spectator Top 100 of 2003! 94 points and Highly Recommended: Winemaker Michel Friou and owner Alexandra Marnier-Lapostolle fashioned this blend of Carmenère, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon from the winery's 49-acre vineyard in Apalta, a small crescent-shaped nook in the Colchagua Valley. The vines average around 55 years old, with some even approaching 100. Fermented in small wooden vats, the wine was then aged in 100 percent new French oak barrels for 21 months prior to bottling. This is our highest rated Chilean wine to date. 3,000 cases made. "
