"The 2001 Syrah Thompson Vineyard is a dense, meaty, rich, full-throttle, virile, expressive effort. This mouthfilling red is for those who like big, intensely flavorful Syrahs. One cannot say enough about the commitment to excellence exhibited year after year by Adam Tolmach. Opaque black/purple-colored with a bouquet of smoked meats, cassis, barbecue spices, licorice, and underbrush is the terrific 2001 Syrah Thompson Vineyard. One of my favorites of this portfolio, it is an exotic, complex wine already displaying tremendous aromatic dimensions as well as sensational flavor authority and length. It will provide immense pleasure over the next 12-15 years. "
