"92-94 points: From one of Chateauneuf du Pape's most traditional estates, Chante Cigale's 2003 looks to be a winner. Its dense ruby/purple color is followed by a potent aromatic display of balsam wood, black cherries, cassis, new saddle leather, and hints of seaweed as well as pepper. Rich, full-bodied, and powerful, with elevated alcohol (it must be above 15%), plenty of glycerin, and a forceful yet silky-textured finish, this is a stunning, old school Chateauneuf du Pape. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2017."
