"The 1999 Chateauneuf du Pape reveals the vintage's higher acidity, a finesse-filled personality, a dark ruby color, and a spicy, herbaceous, leather-scented bouquet. This medium-bodied, fine-tuned Chateauneuf offers copious quantities of berry/cherry fruit as well as fine freshness. It should drink well for 10-12 years. "

"Seductive, elegant and refined, with subtle but rich flavors, in a full-bodied package that includes ripe fruit, spice, smoke, plum and quince pie. Tightly wound (but sweet) tannins, and a burst of mineral make this particularly long and clean on the finish. Drink now through 2007. 16,665 cases made. (PM)"

" Medium ruby color and a earthy nose of sweet berry and jasmine aromas. The palate is round, fruity, and peppery. Rather light for a Châteauneuf-du-Pape but food friendly and well balanced."
