"- Aug 2007 - The 2004 Meritage Artist Series is 51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, 11% Malbec, and 4% Petit Verdot aged for 20 months in 73% new oak. Purple-colored, it has a Bordeaux-like nose of pencil lead, scorched earth, espresso roast, black currant, and blackberry. This leads to a structured wine with a supple texture, layers of spicy flavors, plenty of complexity, and a 45+ second finish. It will evolve for 6-8 years and drink well through 2034.
