"The Kreydenweiss estate was originally established in 1650 in the hamlet of Andlau
(Alsace) and has been in the family for three and a half centuries. To be in business this long, one must be able to adapt and recreate themselves as a business. That is exactly what the Kreydenweiss family has done. In 1850 Marc's great grandfather was one of the pioneers of estate bottling, and Marc has continued to innovate. In 1990 he converted to 100% biodynamic farming, a distinction shared by only a few wineries in the world. Ten years later this Alsatian bought an estate in Costières de Nîmes, an oddity for the regionalistic French. Also farmed bio-
dynamically, this blend of Carignan, Syrah and Grenache has a nose of crushed blackberries with just a hint of smoke underneath. Driven by its peppery spice and
juicy berry fruit quality, this is a fantastic wine to accompany all those hearty fall dishes we will be pulling out of our recipe books shortly. "
