"The 2003 is our second vintage of Vermentino, most typical of Corsica, Sardinia and northern Italy, but also found in the Rhone Valley under the name "Rolle". The grapes were picked to balance bright acidity with good richness and were vinified in stainless steel. We stopped the malolactic fermentation to further emphasize the varietal's brightness and freshness and bottled in May 2004. It has a clean mineral nose of lime and pear, with no influence of oak. It shows flavors of green apple and lime, with refreshing acidity and a lingering finish.
It makes a delightful summer wine and is excellent with grilled vegetables, fresh seafood and garlicky dishes. Drink it in the next year or two."
