Tasting Notes:
rated: June 30, 2008 , Roy Nixon
91 points "The 2005 Shiraz Filsell is similarly styled to the 2004, but with greater depth and richness. The 2004 Shiraz Filsell is a single vineyard, old vine cuvee which was barrel-fermented and aged for 18 months in American oak. Purple in color, it exhibits aromas of cedar, spice box, tobacco, blueberry, and blackberry. It has ample ripe fruit, good depth, and enough structure to evolve for several years.”" Best 2008-2015

90 points "A meaty, ripe and evenly ripened Barossa shiraz whose deep, juicy flavours of fresh blackberries and plums are handsomely backed by chocolate/mocha oak with a dusting of pepper and spice. It’s long and vibrant, but is underpinned by a slightly green-edged and metallic extract, before finishing with a hint of saltiness. (Barossa Valley, $30 retail approx., 17.2/90, drink 2010-2013)" Best 2010-2013
