"Alberto Serenelli continues his grandfather's winemaking tradition, producing 100% montepulciano wines like this "Varano," only made in outstanding vintages. This 1999 is the first release from recently acquired vineyards in the hamlet of Boranico on Monte Conero. This blue-tinged, deep ruby colored wine displays aromas reticent of Morello cherries and tar, with tart red fruit flavors like cranberry and cherry. The fruit is complemented by cedar notes and a hint of earth. Try this with your favorite grilled meat dishes or pasta with a wild boar ragu."
