"The purple-colored 2006 Finca Mirador is sourced from a vineyard planted in the 1940s with yields under one ton per acre. It offers slightly more complexity revealing a splendid perfume of toasty oak, mineral, mocha, violets, black cherry, and blueberry. Round, layered, succulent, and rich, its pure, fruit-filled finish lasts for 45+ seconds. In a brief period of time, Achaval Ferrer has become one of Argentina’s benchmark wineries. A visit to the winery in April 2008 was eye-opening. They export 85% of their production, 40% to the USA. The newest releases will not disappoint. "
