"This wine offers an opaque purple color, a sweet, pure nose of black raspberries, cassis, blueberries, and minerals, good density and richness, high extract, and medium body, as well as a boatload of astringent tannin. Despite some positive attributes, it is questionable as to whether this wine will come around or not. I will wait until after bottling to see how much fruit and extract remain. At present, its anticipated maturity is 2008-2020.
If it were not for the extremely high level of dry, aggressive tannin in this wine, I would have been unreserved in my judgment. There are plenty of positive characteristics to be found, but the tannin level makes crystal balling this wine akin to consulting a psychic."
