"Pichler’s 2004 Riesling Von den Terrassen comes, as usual, largely from a single picking of Durnstein’s Hollerin vineyard (which the Pichlers don’t own, but rather rent from local baker-vintner Schmidl), with small contributions from the neighboring Kellerberg and other sites. Orange, tangerine and lime aromas correctly forecast a palate full of citrus as well, with faintly bitter accents of black currant and citrus oils. The finish is strident and adamant in its lime and tangerine zest bitterness. It remains questionable whether this impressively concentrated wine will become more comfortable in its skin and open up. "
