"A bit of ‘alternative’ varietal action tonight, such as it is, with a couple of Malbec and Petit Verdot to come…and if there wasn’t one already, most likely we’d have had to invent a new show for them anyway? We need at least a couple more, surely. I’m thinking of starting up the “Cool Climate Alternative Varietals NSW Boutique Bio-Dynamic and Organic Wine Show made by winemakers under 5?2? ? ” Too niche? I think not!
Aniseed, cherries, new leather and a light rosy perfume - lovely smelling wine and varietal too. It’s medium bodied, fresh and lively with lightly chalky tannins and excellent length of flavour. It’s not a wine that’s likely to make friends easily, but for those in the Nebbiolo know, its grippy tannic handshake, a nudge and a drink will ensure a lively rapport.
