"Medium-deep red-ruby. Much less expressive initially than the Ark, with hints of darker fruits, licorice and tobacco. Then tighter and more brooding in the mouth, with dark fruit and spice flavors leading to a gripping, slowly mounting, whiplash of a finish. This is much less accessible today than the Ark but gained steadily in richness and sweetness with extended aeration without any loss of freshness. I found my score as I followed the wine. 92-95 points."
