" The intense plummy fruitiness and velvet richness of this wine comes from the overwhelming use of Merlot, which accounts for around 80% of the blend. This brings a delightful sweetness and softness of fruit along with lush, round tannins. It may thus be drunk at a younger age than most 2000 Bordeaux, certainly earlier than the Cabernet Sauvignon-based wines of the Medoc. An exemplary Pomerol from a tiny, 5.5 hectare estate, it is made in a decidedly new world style and is therefore a good choice for the Bordeaux novice. A great value, too!"
