"The 2009 Levitation Syrah is a multi-vineyard blend of 100% Syrah, aged for 17 months in 40% new and 20% neutral French oak. The 2009 growing season was warm, which resulted in maximum flavor development and a full bodied, rich wine. Comprised of 56% Lewis Vineyard Syrah and 44% Les Collines Syrah, is has soaring aromas of freshly crushed raspberries, wet stones, and exotic spices, wrapped with plush tannins and fresh acidity that carry the flavors on forever. This wine will age beautifully for another 7-10 years."

"This mixes blueberry, boysenberry and blackberry notes with a dressing of Bourbon and chocolate. Smooth and satiny, this is drinking exceptionally well at the moment. Wine Advocate -- 89pts Sleight of Hand’s 2009 Syrah Levitation – sourced from Lewis and Les Collines vineyards – offers a distinctively smoky nose suggestive of tallow and charred red meat. Expressing itself well below the bar line, this tannic, brooding bottling displays its dark berry fruit with a decidedly bitter edge. Impressively persistent, it may well just need a couple of years to become more engaging, and I can’t imagine it fatiguing inside of six."
